PHOENIX -- A hug between a woman and her boyfriend turned deadly after police say the man accidentally shot and killed her during that embrace.
It happened Tuesday morning at a home near 86th Avenue and Camelback Road. Police said the 18-year-old man had been hugging his 24-year-old girlfriend. He had a handgun in his waistband.
Police said the man moved to take the weapon out of his waistband because it was bothering his girlfriend. When he did, the gun went off and Amanda Mosley was struck by a bullet.
Mosley was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The case will go to the Maricopa County attorney's office for review.
