Surprise police seek identity of suspect in supermarket theft

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Surprise police are asking for the public's help identifying a theft suspect.

According to police, a man entered the Fry's grocery store at Reems and Bell roads just after 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 10 and took an undisclosed amount of money from the self-check cash drawer.

Sgt. Mike Donovan said the suspect fled the store on a mountain bike.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18 to 22 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a dark shirt, gray shorts and black tennis shoes.

Police have released photos taken by security cameras.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call police at 623-222-4000 or to remain anonymous call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
