Cooler temps in Valley; freeze warning in Flagstaff
By Tami Hoey
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- It's officially fall and it's starting to feel like it in Arizona.
The Valley will be in the 60s overnight and a freeze warning is in effect in the high country.
Folks who work in ski shops in the Flagstaff area say they welcome the cooler temps. "It's tough to sell jackets and pants when it's 70 or 80 degrees, so the cooler the better for us," says Lee Cowan of Ski Haus.
3TV's Jason Volentine donned a jacket in Flagstaff Monday night, and that drew some good-natured ribbing from the locals. "I think you're a wimp!" laughed resident Karen Chapman.
But with temps dipping below freezing, one local did admit to feeling a chill in the air. "I had to turn my heater on last night," she said. "It was cold!"
