GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Pre-season for your Phoenix Coyotes is winding down (They're 2-2 right now, with three games to go.) and the countdown is on to the home opener against the New York Rangers on Thursday, Oct. 3.

There's something new in store for fans this year -- tailgating. Several other HNL clubs encourage their fans to tailgate before games, and now it looks like the Coyotes are jumping into the fun.

Anthony LeBlanc, president, CEO and co-owner of the Coyotes, made an announcement about weekend tailgating via Twitter.

Based on that tweet, the earliest tailgate would be Oct. 19, when the Coyotes take on the Detroit Red Wings.

Tailgating at Arena is not like pre-game partying for Cardinals fans at nearby University of Phoenix Stadium.

Tailgating at Arena is allowed only in specific parking lots and is not permitted in any Westgate parking lot. Those lots where tailgaters can set up will open 2.5 hours before the game.

Check out the full guidelines for tailgating at Arena, including the list of parking lots, below. Arena Tailgating Guidelines
