PHOENIX -- A 45-year-old man is in critical condition after getting shot in an apparent road rage incident and police are trying to find the shooter.

The incident occurred at 18th Street and McDowell Road on Sept. 14 just after 10 a.m.

There may have been a traffic altercation before the shooting, according to police.

The victim pulled onto a side street and the gunman followed him. The gunman then drove alongside the victim and shot at the victim multiple times.

The shooting was captured on surveillance video. A close look at the video shows smoke coming from the passenger's side of the shooter's vehicle as the gun is fired.

The gunman was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time and shot the victim through the passenger side window of the vehicle while seated in the driver’s seat.

Officers who responded to the scene found the victim in his SUV with a gunshot wound.

Investigators have limited information regarding the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male 17 to 20 years old.

He was driving a silver Honda with black primer paint on the hood, white primer paint on the passenger side and black rims.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, the identity of the suspect or owner of the vehicle is encouraged to contact the Phoenix Police Department’s Violent Crimes Bureau at 602-262-6141.
