GLENDALE, Ariz. – One suspect is in custody following a robbery and barricade situation in Glendale Wednesday night. Two other suspects are outstanding.
Glendale police said a man posted an ad on Craigslist trying to sell his Xbox 360 and went to an apartment complex near Peoria and 43rd avenues to meet with a potential buyer at approximately 6:30 p.m.
When the victim arrived, he was pushed inside an apartment and robbed at gunpoint. Three suspects took his Xbox gaming system, cellphone and wallet, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Officer Tracey Breeden.
Two of the suspects fled on foot.
Patrol officers responded and contacted the victim, who directed them to where the crime occurred.
The officers were able to contact a woman at the apartment and she told them that one of the suspects was inside. The officers tried to make contact with him, but he refused to leave the apartment.
Officers set up a perimeter and called for SWAT to respond.
After several hours of negotiation, SWAT made entry with the use of a K9 and the suspect was taken into custody.
No officers were injured.
Breeden said the investigation is ongoing and detectives are attempting to identify the outstanding suspects who fled from the scene.
