SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a backyard debris that spread through a Scottsdale home early Tuesday morning.

It happened near Loop 101 and Thomas Road. Three Valley fire departments responded.

Three people were home when the fire broke out. It’s not clear if the house was equipped with working smoke detectors, but all three escaped unharmed.

According to firefighters, the fire started in some debris in the backyard. From there, the flames quickly spread to the home, getting into the attic and tearing through the rest of the house.

The residents reportedly were in the process of moving out.

No injuries were reported. .
