PHOENIX -- A marine veteran who served two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom received a true welcome home this week.

Corporal Adam Picas was awarded a Purple Heart among many other commendations for his service, and on Friday he received keys to a new home in Anthem.

The new home is part of a partnership with Bank of America and the Military Warriors Support Foundation.

The goal is to truly thank veterans and help them rejoin civilian life.

“The house is huge and it is nice, and there are no neighbors outside your bedroom window,” said Picas. “It is just amazing. It is just great.”

Picas recently got engaged and moved to Arizona from Los Angeles.

He said he sees a future of happiness in the home.
