DOUGLAS, Ariz. -- An Arizona man was arrested this week after he allegedly tried to smuggle more than 221 pounds of marijuana into the U.S.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the 34-year-old Douglas resident was traveling through the Port of Douglas Wednesday when he was referred for further inspection.
Inside the man’s van, officers reportedly found 151 packages of marijuana worth an estimated $110,748.
The man was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
The marijuana and the vehicle were seized.
