Weekend freeway closures could slow West Valley driversPosted: Updated:
Before you head out onto the roadways this morning, make a note of these weekend freeway construction projects from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). A couple of closures could affect and could slow down drivers in the West Valley.
• The Loop 303 will be closed between Glendale Avenue and Cactus Road from 10 p.m. Friday (September 13th) to 5 a.m. Monday (September 16th). Construction crews in the West Valley will work through the weekend to switch the traffic along the Loop 303 to new freeway lanes. DETOUR: Drivers who travel the Loop 303 should consider using Sarival Avenue as the north-south route in the area. Glendale Avenue and Cactus Road will remain open at the Loop 303.
• The Southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (September 14th), from 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (September 15th) and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (September 16th). Crews will perform maintenance work on the ramp. DETOUR: Drivers who may need to travel on the Southbound Loop 101 can reach westbound I-10 by exiting to westbound McDowell Road and using southbound 99th Avenue.
