TEMPE, Ariz. -- Wet roads may be to blame for a deadly rollover on the U.S. 60 Sunday morning.
The incident occurred on the ramp to the Loop 101, which had to be closed for hours while police investigated.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the vehicle was going about 55 mph when for some reason the driver began driving off the road and hit a pole.
The vehicle then rolled over.
Nine passengers were inside at the time. A 36-year-old woman was thrown from the vehicle and killed.
The other passengers suffered only minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
