PHOENIX -- One person was rushed to the hospital following a stabbing at the Metrocenter Mall Friday afternoon.
According to Phoenix police, the incident began after two intoxicated men started fighting with one another in the bathroom.
The men eventually ended their dispute, and left the bathroom together.
While walking down a narrow hallway, the men came across a couple walking in the opposite direction, and one of the men reportedly bumped into the boyfriend.
A yelling match ensued, and one of the intoxicated men pushed the girlfriend out of the way to attack the boyfriend.
Police said the boyfriend pulled out a knife and stabbed the man.
The boyfriend and girlfriend then fled the area.
Police said they believe the boyfriend was a victim who was just defending himself, but they would still like to speak with him and get his side of the story.
