PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) -- Fire equipment manufacturers are donating more than $110,000 worth of new equipment to the Yarnell fire department to help it recover from a devastating wildfire that killed 19 Prescott firefighters.
The Daily Courier reports that the donations by eight manufacturers were announced Thursday at the Arizona State Fire Training School.
Donated items included a thermal imaging camera, tools, hoses, clothing, helmets, goggles and a saw.
All but one of the 20 members of Prescott's Granite Mountain Hotshots perished June 30 in the Yarnell Hill Fire when wind-swept flames swept through a brush-choked canyon near Yarnell.
The small community in western Yavapai County lost more than 100 homes, including some where volunteers stored fire equipment.
