MESA, Ariz. -- A Gilbert man accused of robbing a Safeway pharmacy in Mesa was arrested at his home on Friday.
According to police, 27-year-old Francisco Robledo handed a note to a pharmacy employee at the Safeway on Southern Avenue at Val Vista Drive.
The note said Robledo had a gun and he had his hand in his pocket acting as if he had gun. However, nobody actually saw a gun.
Robledo got away with prescription medication and fled in a silver passenger car.
A witness was able to get the license plate number.
Police went to the address where the vehicle is registered and detained the suspect as he arrived with the stolen medications.
Robledo admitted he stole the medication for himself. Police also said they found heroin.
The suspect is facing robbery and drug possession charges.
Robledo may also have committed similar robberies at two locations in Gilbert, according to Sgt. Tony Landato with the Mesa Police Department.
