TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Mesa Police Department has identified the man who was fatally struck by a light rail train on Friday.

Police said Wade Stokley, 28, may have been hit by the train near the Sycamore Drive and Main Street stop, and then dragged just past the stop at Apache Blvd.

The train reportedly didn't stop until Priest and Washington, which is more than five miles away.

Officers said body parts and clothing were scattered across the light rail.

Light rail service in the area was suspended, but eventually reopened by Friday evening.
