Boston Pops Kicks Off Holiday Season With 3TVs Forgotten Angel Toy Drive On Nov. 16Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Best of the Boston Pops presented by the Arizona Ford Dealers is partnering with 3TV on its Forgotten Angel Toy Drive designed to make the season brighter for thousands of needy children.
The concert is Nov. 16 at Hohokam Stadium, 1235 N. Center Street in Mesa. Concert-goers are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at the event.
All donations will benefit the Forgotten Angel program, providing toys to children whose holiday gift wishes are never fulfilled.
More than 25 years ago, 3TV and The Salvation Army joined forces to create the Christmas Angel program. Today, it is recognized as the largest Christmas Angel program in the country, serving more than 50,000 children each holiday season.
For fans of all ages, the Best of the Boston Pops concert repertoire includes a wide variety of American music, a patriotic sing-along with a fireworks spectacular finale, and a medley of holiday favorites sure to put everyone in the spirit of the forthcoming season.
“The Best of the Boston Pops kicks off the holidays in the Valley," Randy Vogel, co-producer and director of theater and operations at Mesa Arts Center, said. "It's fitting that we've selected the Forgotten Angel Toy Drive as our charitable cause, ensuring that children in need are not forgotten during this joyous time of year."
It's been nearly a decade since the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, led by Conductor Keith Lockhart, has performed in the Valley. Doors open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. The performance begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are now on sale. Prices are $25, $39 or $49. Field level floor seats are $75 and $95. Tickets may be purchased at the Mesa Amphitheatre and Mesa Arts Center box offices or online at www.bostonpopsmesa.com.
