PHOENIX -- Silent Witness is asking for the public’s help finding the man and woman who tried to steal a purse at a Valley grocery store earlier month.

According to Silent Witness, on the evening of Aug. 7 a 67-year-old woman was approached by a white male as she loaded groceries into her car in the parking lot of the Fry’s near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman’s purse from her shopping cart and then jumped into the driver’s seat of a parked car.

The man handed the purse to his female passenger, at which time the victim approached the passenger’s side window and began fighting with the woman over the purse.

The victim was eventually able to wrestle her purse away from the woman, but not before she suffered minor injuries to her hands and wrist.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray 2002 Nissan Sentra.

The male suspect is said to be between 18 and 25 years old. He stands between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 170 pounds.

The female suspect is also between the ages of 18 and 25. She’s between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs between 120 and 150 pounds.
