MCSO seeks person of interest after teenage girl attacked in Mesa

MESA, Ariz. -- A teenage girl was attacked in Mesa Tuesday evening and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to identify a person of interest.

According to a crime bulletin released by the sheriff's office, the male suspect produced a weapon and attempted to detain the 16-year-old girl in the area of Crismon Road and University Drive at approximately 6 p.m.

The suspect was a white male with a medium build, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and about 150 pounds. He had short dirty-blond hair, light-colored skin, light-colored green or blue eyes and a goatee.

He was wearing black pants and a white short-sleeve shirt at the time of the attack.

MCSO released a sketch of a person of interest on Friday.
