YARNELL, Ariz. (AP) -- A wildfire burning five miles east of the communities of Yarnell and Peeples Valley in north-central Arizona has grown slightly even as firefighters make progress in containing it.
Officials say the French Gulch Fire was at 850 acres Wednesday as containment increased to 15 percent. They expect full containment by Friday evening.
The lightning-caused blaze is in the same region of western Yavapai County as the deadly Yarnell Hill fire that killed 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots on June 30.
State forestry officials say the current fire is burning in brush and low trees in extremely rugged terrain where there's no road access for firefighters.
Officials say 160 personnel are battling the blaze. Helicopters are dropping water and transporting crews.
The fire started Saturday night and isn't threatening any structures.
