TONTO BASIN, Ariz. -- Tonto National Forest officials have confirmed there have been 11 lightning-caused fires in the past 48 hours, six of which are still active.

Thus far, the Reno, Tin and Gordon fires have been contained. The Cain and Picture fires continue to be monitored, while the White, Malpais and Cedar Basin fires have no new information.

A new fire, called the Red Fire, was also reported at 9:30 a.m.

Currently, there is one engine each on scene for the Picket and Granite fires. There is minimal spreading on each fire.

No evacuations have been issued, and there have not been any reported injuries or structural damage.

Officials said in a press release that thunderstorm activity is further predicted for this weekend, bringing moisture and lightning to some areas of the forest.
