Man struck and killed while riding bike

PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said a 48-year-old man on a motorized bicycle died Friday night after being hit by a car.

MCSO said a 17-year-old was driving north on Cave Creek Road when the teen turned west onto New River Road and collided with the man on the bicycle.

The bicyclist has been identified as Darrin Conrad of Cave Creek.

After being hit, he was transported to a hospital where he died.

MCSO said the incident remains under investigation.
