PHOENIX -- A Valley man will be spending several years in prison for molesting and attempting to kidnap a young girl.
Ricardo Torres Marquez, 22, was sentenced Friday to 24 years in prison and lifetime probation upon release.
Marquez has previously pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor, and two counts of attempt to commit molestation of a child.
Marquez was arrested in November 2011 after he made his way into a Phoenix apartment and molested a 4-year-old girl.
Marquez tried to carry the girl out the front door, but family members woke up and stopped him.
He was detained by the family until police arrived and took him into custody.
