Several lightning-caused fires on Tonto National Forest

PHOENIX -- Thunderstorm activity over the Tonto National Forest Thursday afternoon led to several wildfire incidents, according to a spokeswoman for the forest service.

The Cain Fire is burning 28 miles northeast of Mesa, Ariz. and two miles west of Four Peaks. It is 20 to 30 acres.

The Reno Fire is burning seven miles northwest of Tonto Basin, Ariz. It is eight acres.

Both fires are being fought from the ground and the air.

Crews were also checking two reports of smoke south of Superior, Ariz.
