MESA, Ariz. – A Mesa man is accused of using a hidden camera to record his daughter's friend undressing and taking a shower.

Brendon Ray Zachary, 44, is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and surreptitious photographing, videotaping, filming or digitally recording.

According to court documents, Zachary's wife contacted police after discovering an SD card with a video clip of their daughter's 11-year-old friend. She said she saw many other files on the SD card but did not want to look further.

She told police that she found the SD card attached to an Xbox game system in their home and also discovered a blank SD card inside a spy cam disguised as a motion sensor in her husband's nightstand.

She turned over the SD card, camera and Zachary's laptop computer to police.

According to the court paperwork, a detective looked at the SD card and saw what he described as hundreds of images of child pornography in addition to the video of the victim.

Several cameras designed to be hidden and obtain video imaging were found during a search of Zachary's home, according to the documents.

He was arrested on Tuesday.

According to the court papers, Zachary admitted to police that he placed a hidden camera in the bathroom of his home to capture video of the victim. He also admitted to downloading several hundred images of child pornography from the Internet.
