Former Arizona Cardinal opens Valley day spaPosted: Updated:
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- He's a former NFL player who is trading the gridiron for the flat iron. Former Arizona Cardinal David Barrett has opened a luxury salon and day spa in Chandler.
During his NFL career, Barrett played for the Arizona Cardinals and then later traded to the New York Jets. After retiring from professional football, Barrett embarked on a new mission: to create a beautiful upscale salon and day spa near the Cardinals' training facility.
On Wednesday's Good Morning Arizona we got a peek inside the brand new D'Antonio's Signature Day Spa & Ink at Germann and Alma School in Chandler.
D'Antonio's aims to cater to the East Valley's high-end clientele with a new salon, spa, and ink studio. The sleek interior is finished with designer fixtures and features a canary and pewter color scheme throughout. The day spa is accessorized with eye-catching artwork, over-sized mirrors and glamorous chandeliers.
"We all came up with the idea," says Barrett's fiancee and salon co-owner, Kristi Thames. "We had lots of round-table meetings and figured out how we can offer as many treatments as possible so you can spend the whole day here and get everything done."
D'Antonio's also offers a high-end tattoo studio, the first of its kind in Arizona. This luxury, appointment-only atelier is ideal for elite clientele who want their ink done by top artistic talent in chic and private surroundings.
"Tattoo is a unique idea, kind of bringing the edgy with the classy," says Thames."If you're here getting your hair done, you can get some ink done too."
"It has been my dream to open a day spa, salon and ink studio ever since I left the NFL," owner David Barrett said. "With the opening of D'Antonio's Signature Day Spa & Ink we are bringing a new offering to the area that fills the luxury salon and spa niche in the East Valley."
D'Antonio's is now open Tuesday-Sunday in Chandler. You can visit their website or call 480-878-4860 to schedule an appointment.
