PHOENIX -- It's easy to consider getting a new puppy or kitten for your family. But there are so many older, seasoned pets out there who need good homes, too.

Shannon Nalley from the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) brought a beautiful five-year-old dog to the Good Morning Arizona studios this week.

Meet Gigi. Vets believe she's a shepherd/beagle mix, and say she was turned in as a stray. She's already trained would make a great family dog. "She's very friendly, super sweet," says Nalley. "And these kinds of dogs really appreciate a good home."

She's good with kids, but since she is slightly older, would not be as active as some younger dogs.
