PHOENIX -- While the monsoon continues to be M.I.A. for the Valley, a dry and hot couple of days are ahead.
Wednesday morning started with some brief and isolated light showers in the Southeast Valley, but the rest of the day is expected to be dry.
Look for Valley highs around 110 degrees, just a few degrees shy of today's record of 113, which was set just last year. Partly sunny skies are expected this afternoon and again tomorrow with about the same high temperature. Overnight lows will bottom out in the mid 80s.
On Friday, monsoon moisture slowly returns to the region for a better chance at storms in the high country.
There is a slight chance of storms for the Valley on Friday and throughout the weekend.
Temperatures will stay above average, topping out near 109 degrees this weekend with higher humidity.
