GUADALUPE, Ariz. -- Police say a man who allegedly stole an ambulance had also assaulted an officer and nurse during the incident.
According to the police report, Guadalupe resident Cesar Garcia, 33, drove the stolen ambulance to his home and tried to get into his house.
When police attempted to place Garcia under arrest, he allegedly tried to punch and kick at officers. He caused injury to one officer's shins and knees, and knocked off his glasses.
Once placed under arrest, Garcia was taken to the local hospital. According to the report, he spat in the eye of one of the attending nurses while being treated.
Garcia is being held on charges of theft, resisting arrest, assault, criminal damage and DUI.
