PHOENIX -- Phoenix police are looking for a man who burglarized a home in Arcadia. It happened Friday night while the family was out to dinner, but the guy was caught on surveillance video.

"He left the property at 9:29 p.m. and we came home four minutes after he left. We missed the man by four minutes," said Tracy Wadas.

Wadas says she's lived in Arcadia for years and has always felt safe. The night of the burglary the family didn't turn on their alarm. The guy broke in through a back door, and first ransacked Wadas' office, but didn't take anything. His next stop was the master bedroom closet, where it's believed he got away with $30,000 worth of jewelry that was left out.

"I had my car broken into and other places, but when it's your home there's a sense of anger you can't put into words, " Wadas said.

Phoenix police are reviewing the surveillance video, but describe the suspect as a black man who is 25-45 years old, weighs 200-275 pounds, and was last seen wearing a light colored shirt and pants with gloves and a backpack.

Wadas' neighbor, Leanne Wilhardt, who had just returned from vacation, believes she was burglarized the same night, as well. She said she had jewelry worth thousands of dollars, and was going through her inventory before filing a police report.

"I have to figure out what's there and what's not," Wilhardt said.

"I want him caught and I want him in jail. And I'm willing to go to any lengths to make it happen," Wadas added.

Phoenix police say if you recognize the suspect in the surveillance video, please give them a call at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspect.
