CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A Guadalupe man is facing criminal charges for allegedly giving himself a ride home in an ambulance.

Chandler police said they arrested 33-year-old Cesar Garcia Sunday morning for having an open container of beer at a store.

Garcia was taken to the Chandler Police Department where he was processed for the crime and later released with a citation.

After being released, Garcia allegedly decided to give himself a ride home to Guadalupe by stealing an ambulance that was parked at the police station.

Garcia was eventually located by Tempe police after taking the ambulance all the way to his residence.

He's now facing grand theft auto and DUI charges.
