LAKE PLEASANT, Ariz. -- The body of a 17-year-old boy was recovered from Lake Pleasant Saturday morning.

It's believed that Daniel Snider drowned at Lake Pleasant on Friday afternoon

Snider was swimming in the Desert Tortoise Cove with two friends when, according to those friends, he appeared to tense up and he went under the water.

The friends attempted to locate Snider but were unsuccessful. They then returned to their campsite which was located around 100 yards away and notified Snider’s mother who then called 911.

The mother indicated her son has epilepsy and was taking medication daily. She told officials that Snider suffered 4 to 6 seizures per year. She said that he was a good swimmer and did not have any physical disabilities.

Snider was at the lake to celebrate his birthday.
