Tracking ASU's football's success by uniform comboPosted: Updated:
When Arizona State rebranded their athletic teams in 2011, the new Nike-designed uniforms gave every sport a wealth of options on game day.
As a result, the merits (and demerits) of how the Sun Devil football team will look each week has become one of the most hotly debated topics around the program.
With six bases helmets, four jerseys, and five pants in the rotation—not to mention subtle tweaks like changing the color of the pitchfork on the helmet—ASU has a lot of choices to make, and so far, they've made 17 unique base-color choices over the 41games since the rebranding.
Let's take a look at how ASU has performed in each combo. While this really has no relevance on how ASU performs on game day, here are the numbers. Hey, it's fun.
For Combo, we listed it as Helmet/Jersey/Pants, with G=Gold, M=Maroon, W=White, B=Black, A = Anthracite. PF = Points ASU has scored, PA = Points allowed by ASU, PD = Point differential.
