TEMPE, Ariz -- He came to be known as the "Grocery Store Groper," caught on surveillance cameras at stores after grabbing women’s backsides. So it shouldn't be a surprise that televised screen shots are what led to his arrest.

"We received info from several people that had been watching the news coverage. They recognized Jesse Jimenez as the suspect in the latest photo we had," said Sgt. Mike Pooley with the Tempe Police Department.

Officers say Jimenez, 21, of Mesa, allegedly assaulted a total of four women in Tempe and Gilbert over the past six weeks.

He worked at a Walmart in Mesa and one of his co-workers helped tip off police. That co-worker reportedly recognized Jimenez in these clearer shots, printed out the picture, brought it to work, and asked Jimenez if this was him. He denied it but then walked out of work and didn’t return.

"He was taken into custody at his house, then there was a little struggle getting him into custody," Pooley said. "He was tased, but then he was taken into custody."

Tempe police said there were no medical issues after that tasing. Jimenez is now in Tempe City Jail facing four counts of assault.

"Everything fell into place like it should and Mr. Jimenez is now in custody and off the street," Pooley said.

Investigators are now looking into if Jimenez has any past history of assault.
