PHOENIX -- Phoenix police say they’ve arrested a man suspected of stealing beer from several Valley Circle K locations for more than a year.

Police said Thursday that “Operation Beer Garden” has led to the arrest of 43-year-old Felix Castillo.

During their investigation, detectives from the Phoenix Police Business and Economic Stability Team determined that Castillo had committed at least 36 “beer runs” between early 2012 and July 2013.

In each case, Castillo would allegedly take up to three 30 packs of beer and then resell them later.

Police said Castillo’s crime spree resulted in losses of more than $2,000.

In 2011, Castillo was arrested for similar thefts, and was on probation when he committed his most recent “beer runs.”
