PHOENIX -- The monsoon is taking a temporary vacation from Arizona.
High pressure has shifted east and low pressure is setting up to our west. The two will work to keep our state under an unseasonably dry southwesterly flow aloft.
With our monsoon moisture now east in New Mexico, storm chances will be limited to far eastern Arizona today and tomorrow.
The Valley will warm up to about 106 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. About the same is expected tomorrow except with slightly lower humidity.
The drier air in place will keep storms away from the Valley through the weekend and into early next week, too.
There is a chance for storms in the high country this weekend as a bit of monsoon moisture returns to eastern Arizona.
