PHOENIX -- Another alleged thief has been caught as a result of the Phoenix Police Department's "Operation Beer Garden."

Bryan Simon, 31, was arrested and booked on suspicion of stealing change-dispensing machines from multiple Circle K locations.

Police say he stole from the stores 12 times between November and December 2012, and 15 more times between July 12 and 23, 2013. The estimated total loss for the thefts is $17,000.

His capture was part of a recent sting called "Operation Beer Garden," in which the Phoenix Police Department's new Business and Economic Stability Team partnered with Circle K's security to target 66 unknown repeat robbers.

Police say Simon admitted to the thefts, "citing drug use as the cause for his need to steal."
