Pima county deputy fatally shoots man after being shot in the leg

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A deputy with the Pima County Sheriff’s Office was injured late Saturday night after getting into a fatal shootout with a man at a Tucson Circle K.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, deputy Jesus Davila responded to the Circle K just before 11 p.m. after receiving word of a suspicious person with a firearm.

When he arrived on scene, Davila made contact with the suspect, 41-year-old Alvin McBride.

The two had a brief conversation before a struggle broke out.

McBride reportedly shot Davila in the leg, at which time the two went down to the floor where they continued to fight.

At some point during the confrontation, Davila was able to pull out his firearm and fatally shoot McBride.

McBride was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Davila was taken to the hospital.

He is said to be in stable condition.
