FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman interrupted a burglary at her Fountain Hills home and wound up being tied to a chair by the suspect.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say the 62-year-old woman's son-in-law found her Monday morning at her home east of Phoenix.

The son-in-law is a Glendale police officer.

Neither he nor the woman's name has been released.

The woman told authorities that the suspect hit her in the face and then tied her up about 8 a.m. Monday.

It's not immediately clear how long the woman was restrained in a chair.

Authorities say she's being treated at a Scottsdale hospital.

Sheriff's officials say they're investigating the burglary and searching for the suspect.
