MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly broke into a couple's Mesa home and hid under their baby's crib.
Mesa police say 22-year-old Jimmy Tate allegedly broke into a residence Wednesday by entering the home through a back sliding glass door.
After the mother heard noises coming from the baby's room, her husband investigated and discovered Tate, who fled the scene.
Police officers arrived and located Tate in a parking lot. They say Tate told them that he was extremely intoxicated but he knew the baby's father.
They say he booked into jail on suspicion of criminal trespassing in the first degree.
Police didn't immediately know Thursday if Tate has a lawyer yet.
