BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. -- A man who allegedly stabbed his mother in Bullhead City has been captured in Nevada.

Security officials at a Laughlin casino spotted Zachary Ryan McGuire, 21, Thursday morning and contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

He was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition to Arizona.

Mcguire's mother's told Bullhead City police that she woke up early Wednesday morning to her son attacking her with a knife.

The 52-year-old woman had a laceration to her neck area and defensive wounds on her arm, according to police. She was taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for treatment.

She told police that her son suffers from mental issues.

Police were unable to locate McGuire, who had fled the scene.

McGuire faces charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct involving a weapon per domestic violence.
