Police seek suspect who shot at man outside Phoenix convenience store

PHOENIX -- Police are trying to identify and locate a suspect in a shooting outside a Phoenix convenience store.

Police said the suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, engaged in a verbal argument with a 42-year-old black man inside the Circle K at Van Buren Street and 43rd Avenue just after midnight on May 31.

Once outside the store, the suspect reportedly produced a gun from the back of his waistband and shot twice at the other man. He was not struck.

Another person who was standing behind the victim at the time of the shooting was not injured.

The suspect fled the area on foot.

Police have released surveillance video and photos of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered.
