FLORENCE, Ariz. -- A 2-year-old girl died Tuesday night after she was pulled from a community pool in Florence.

Rescue crews from Rural Metro and Pinal County sheriff's deputies were called to the pool at the Magma Ranch subdivision near Judd and Felix roads shortly after 8 p.m.

According to witnesses, Lillian Serrano was found floating near the steps of the pool and was immediately pulled from the pool. CPR was administered until first responders arrived and took over life-saving efforts.

Lillian was then airlifted to a hospital in Florence where she was pronounced dead at about 9:40 p.m.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, the child's 20-year-old mother, Stacie Rubianes, was at the pool with other friends and children and didn't see Lillian wander away.

Sheriff's detectives will continue to investigate this case.
