MESA, Ariz. -- A man has been booked for child endangerment and disorderly conduct after allegedly holding a child outside a second floor window.
After 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, suspect Marco A. Carillo, 31, called 911. He said he had a dart in him and was poisoned.
Officers tried to talk to Carillo through a front window, but authorities say he refused to open the door although he was still yelling for help.
Police say he pushed out the screen of a window upstairs and held a visibly distressed small child on the window ledge.
Officers were able to force entry into the back door while another officer distracted Carillo, allowing them to arrest Carillo and secure the child.
Police say Child Protective Services took the child, as his mother is incarcerated for drug sales.
