Man arrested after fatal stabbing in Tolleson

TOLLESON, Ariz. -- Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Tolleson early Sunday morning.

Richard Randy Passage, 43, of Tolleson, faces a second-degree murder charge.

According to Sgt. Obed Gaytan with the Tolleson Police Department, officers responded to a call of a man down near 92nd Avenue and Jefferson Street at about 5:30 a.m.

They found an unresponsive Hispanic male lying in the street with a stab wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel.

The victim was identified as Donny Perez Ruiz, 30, of Tolleson.

It was reported that Ruiz and Passage were involved in a physical altercation prior to the stabbing.

There is no further information at this time and the case is under investigation.
