PHOENIX -- Valley residents looking forward to rain on Saturday evening might be in luck.

As of Saturday afternoon, storms were building east of the Valley near Safford and Payson.

Those storms could produce some outflow boundaries that lead to rain hitting the Phoenix metro area later in the evening.

Fortunately, if rain doesn’t visit Phoenix on Saturday there’s still a chance for rain on Sunday.

Some scattered showers could hit the Valley Sunday morning, followed by a chance for thunderstorms later in the day.

As we get into next week, the conditions will dry out and we’ll see highs creep back into triple digits.

Lows for the next seven days are expected to be in the low 80s.
