Construction closures, restrictions this weekend for West ValleyPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Before heading out onto the roadways this weekend, make a note of these weekend construction project restrictions and closures from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Plan alternate routes so you do not get caught up in the traffic tie-ups. The two biggest projects will affect anyone traveling in the West Valley.
*Grand Avenue (US 60) will be closed at Bethany Home Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 22). Crews will be removing the overhead traffic signal structure in the intersection. DETOUR: To travel beyond the closure, drivers in the area can who are traveling westbound on Grand Avenue can use northbound 43rd Avenue to westbound Northern Avenue. Anyone driving on Eastbound Grand Avenue can use southbound 59th Avenue to eastbound Camelback or Indian School roads.
*Southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley will be closed overnight from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (July 20), from 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (July 21) and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday (July 22). ADOT construction crews will being working on pavement improvement measures. DETOUR: Exit southbound Loop 101 to eastbound McDowell Road and go south on 91st Avenue to access I-10.
