Mesa PD searching for armed bank robber

MESA, Ariz. -- The Mesa Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a man who robbed a bank earlier this month.

According to police, a black man in his mid to late 20s walked into the BBVA Compass Bank near Alma School and Southern on the morning of July 1 carrying a gun.

The man reportedly approached one of the tellers and threatened them with a gun while demanding money.

Police said the suspect fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen running northbound from the bank.

The man is said to be approximately 6 feet tall, and weighs between 160 and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white, button-up shirt, a yellow tie, khaki pants, and black glasses.
