SAN SIMON, Ariz. (AP) -- An experimental single-engine plane crashed into an orchard in southeastern Arizona after it struck an electric power line during take-off.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says the plane's 80-year-old pilot suffered injuries to his face and was brought to a hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred Saturday near a street in the community of San Simon.

The community is located near the boundary between Arizona and New Mexico.

The pilot was bringing the two-seat plane from Phoenix to Las Cruces, N.M, when he stopped in San Simon to refuel.
