Fire destroys mobile home

SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz. -- Fire destroyed a mobile home on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community Friday evening.

Flames ripped through the two bedroom property at about 6:30. By the time firefighters got to the home it was fully engulfed.

Residents who live in the Shadow Mountain Valley homes, 55 plus community, said the home went up in flames two other times, before reigniting for the third.

A fire spokesperson on scene told 3TV that flare ups do happen with mobile homes, especially because of insulation. 

The owner of the home, who wasn't inside at the time, said she's devastated.

"I was in shock when I got here...when I saw it was my house I was devastated, I can't believe it, " said Janine Coolidge.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the master bedroom.

The owner was getting ready to sell the the home and said she was staying with her daughter. She said she has insurance.

In the meantime, fire investigators will be looking into the cause.
