Freeways to close in Phoenix, West ValleyPosted: Updated:
Before you head out this weekend, make a note of the weekend construction project list from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Construction crews will be working on freeways throughout the Valley, including in North Scottsdale, the far West Valley and in Phoenix.
• Southbound State Route 143 will be closed between University Drive and Interstate 10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from 11 p.m. Friday (June 21st) to 5 a.m. Monday (June 24th) for pipeline work. DETOUR: Please consider alternate routes, including eastbound Loop 202 and southbound Loop 101, to reach East Valley destinations. Southbound SR 143 drivers exiting at University Drive can use southbound 40th or 52nd streets to access Interstate 10.
• Peoria Avenue will be closed between Loop 303 and Cotton Lane for bridge work from 10 p.m. Friday (June 21st) 5 a.m. Saturday (June 22nd). Detour: Use Olive Avenue.
• Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) will be narrowed to three lanes in both directions at Pima Road/90th Street for storm drain repairs from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (June 22).
• Southbound I-17 off-ramp at Seventh Street will be closed for APS utility work. DETOUR: Use 19th or Seventh avenues 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (June 22).
